Sucess Stories
Over the years we have had many successes with the children and young people we have looked after.
Many have gone home to their own families. The support we have offered them have allowed the children some space and time. In support of the social workers plans, Ryancare assists wherever possible and often this results in children going home..
Some of our carers have gone on to adopt the children they have looked after. Only recently, two children were adopted by one of our carers and the whole family is very settled.
Many children grow up in care and cannot return home. When they leave Ryancare at 18, we try to keep in touch and where appropriate offer support. This year saw one young person go on to university, a great achievement for both her and the carer.
All our children are in education appropriate to their age. This is a great success and Ryancare does it's best to support all education achievements by offering rewards.
One of our young care leavers wrote these words for us:-
"I had a dream. In my dream I had love, warmth, shelter, food, clothes, friends, and safety.
Foster Care has made my dreams come true and I am now studying at university.
Without Ryan Foster Care and the great support of my carer and those around me, I would have still been suffering.
I came from a background of very serious neglect
So I want to say thank you.
For being my family, sharing your love and care with me, making me feel happy, giving me food, warmth, shelter, protection, security, hope, and understanding, and of course lots of holidays. Thank you for your guidance and helping me be a normal child again.
Thank you for going the extra mile and believing in me."

I have been with Ryancare for 5 years as a carer and can honestly say that they are great. They have helped me understand why children come into care and the REAL support I can offer them. Thank you

We feel that Ryancare works very hard improving the quality of service they offer there carers & children. We also feel happy knowing that your always there to offer advice or support if needed. Being part of Ryancare, we feel you recognise & value your foster carers & understand what a difference good foster carers make to the childrens lives.
We feel we offer the little girl we care for, the support, care, & encouragement, she needs. Its to difficult to capture the experience in words ,but IT FEELS GREAT

My family and I have been fostering with Ryancare for 7 years now. Over this period of time we accommodated many children with various issues affecting their lives.
Fostering has its up and downs like most things in life, it is a challenge but with good training and support provided by Ryancare, we are able to acquire the skills needed.
Some years ago when we were thinking about fostering , I saw an advert for Ryancare which mentioned “24hrs support” and it is this type of support that attracted me to Ryancare. I honestly didn’t believe the “24hrs” part but thought give it a try. I am glad we did give it a try. It is knowing should the need arise, there is someone available from Ryancare to give support whatever the time.
Also interesting is the opportunity to meet other Ryancare foster carers at support group meetings and social events. We can share our experiences and if need be make friends. I believe all these help with the skills needed to accommodate children and help to make the children lives that much better.
When I am able to see a young person who have been able to make progress and are happy within themselves, compared to when we first met, it is really rewarding to know our efforts have helped to bring about this achievement and this gives encouragement to continue fostering.
