Statement of Purpose

        ‘The characteristics of our service are that through our standards and commitment our best practice exceeds the minimum standards’

RCF aims to provide secure and nurturing families for children and young people in care and to help access appropriate aftercare support during independence. We will provide a comprehensive support network to our foster carers based on integrity, quality and commitment. We will work to improve the overall physical, mental, emotional and educational welfare of ‘looked-after’ children. By implementing the ‘UK National Standards for Foster Care’ and the ‘Code of Practice’ we have achieved best practice (OFSTED 2008), thereby exceeding the expectations outlined in the ‘Fostering Services National Minimum Standards & Regulations 2011’.

Ryancare has worked nationally on the revision of the National Minimum Standards implemented in April 2011

OBJECTIVES


Ensure children and young people can expect quality, consistency and continuity in all aspects of their family life including carers, health and education, and be free from abuse, neglect, exploitation and deprivation.

Ensure our foster carers reflect a cross section of society from which the children and young people come; due consideration being given to their race, culture, gender, sexuality, language, Religion, educational and personal wishes.

Ensure that we provide a wide range of foster carers trained to the highest standards who operate within a framework of comprehensive professional support guided by clear safeguarding procedures.
